Some nice things people have to say about JB Neufeld
Rand Sealey’s ‘Review of Washington Wines’ (May 2013 Issue)
2010 J B Neufeld Cabernet Sauvignon, Yakima Valley
This vintage is composed of 77% Artz Vineyard (Red Mountain) and 23% Du Brul Vineyard (Rattlesnake Hills). It displays a deep ruby color and an intense nose of blackberry, Bing cherry, cassis, crushed roses, cigar box, orange peel and sultry perfumes. The flavors mirror the aromatics with the dark fruits imbued with black licorice, bittersweet chocolate, French roast and Missoula Flood minerals. The intensity continues on the back with sensations of roasted berries and nuts, dried cherries, graphite, kirsch liqueur, créme de cassis, dried orange peel and leather, leading into a lingering sweet-dry finish. The aromatics and flavors evoke an old/new world character. 19/20 points.

2010 J B Neufeld Cabernet Sauvignon, Yakima Valley
(from Artz and DuBrul vineyards; aged in 71% new French oak for 21 months): Full red-ruby. Aromas of cassis, smoky oak and chicory, with musky hints of herbs and menthol. Nicely rich and concentrated, with a slight edge of acidity framing the smooth, sweet berry fruit. The tannins turn a bit granular and dry on the building finish. A step up from the 2009 Artz bottling. 88(+?)?
